Arrival guide
Everything you need to know before hitting the road. You'll also receive this by email the day before you arrive.
An email with the lock code, the exact address and directions from Route 138. The code changes between every stay.
No meeting needed, no key to pick up. Walk in when you arrive. If you're early, write to Catherine — it's often possible.
Leave the dishes clean and the garbage in the outdoor bin. A full cleaning is done after you leave.
The practical stuff
Electric baseboards in every room, plus the living-room fireplace. Firewood is provided — stacked under the lean-to, east side.
Drinkable tap water. Pressure can drop when two taps run at once — that's normal.
The network and password are posted on the fridge. Fibre — fast enough for video calls at two desks.
Welcome, no fee. We simply ask that they stay off the beds and are never left alone in the chalet.
Two cars in the driveway. In winter, the driveway is cleared before you arrive.
A wooden staircase leads down from the yard. Watch the steps after rain or frost. Fires are allowed in the outdoor fire pit only.
Black and blue bins beside the driveway. Pickup is Wednesday morning.
Write or call Catherine, who lives in Baie-Comeau, twenty minutes away. She replies within the hour — almost always within minutes.
What isn't provided
- Your groceries — the nearest store is 6 km away
- Good shoes for the beach and the trails
- A windbreaker, even in July — it's windy on the point
- Your dog's bowl and bed
